2023-2025 OPSEU/SEFPO Local 449 Elections

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our virtual Special Membership Meeting on February 1st where we hosted our elections and selecting out Convention alternates/Amendments.

We would like to congratulate Liam Vanderbraak (MOH) on being re-elected as your Local 449 President, and Katie Scheel (MOH) on being re-elected as your Local 449 Treasurer!

We would also like to introduce your newly elected Vice-President and Secretary: David Danone (MOH), Local 449 Vice-President; and Brandie Burgess (MCCSS), Local 449 Secretary.

We are super excited for David and Brandie to begin their roles in our Local! This not only allows us to distribute the workload of maintaining the affairs of Local 449, but we are able to continue running independently as a Renfrew-based OPSEU/SEFPO Local.

We would also like to congratulate Anna McIntyre (MOH) and Shaun Thompson (MOH) in being re-elected to their positions as Trustees of Local 449! Big thank you to these amazing individuals who review our Audits and financial statements.

We had our Region 4 Executive Board Members, Melissa Coenraad and Chrisy Tremblay attend this meeting as guests and to introduce themselves to our Local. We also had Nelson Ross Laguna, OPSEU/SEFPO Staff Representative, in attendance to host the elections for Local 449.

In addition to our Local 449 elections, we nominated and elected our OPSEU/SEFPO Convention Alternate and Observers, and put forward three Constitution Amendments/Policy Resolutions to be submitted for discussion at the OPSEU/SEFPO Convention.
